This trek is famous for sunrise and sunset views over the magnificent mountains. This trek rewards you incredible view of Annapurna I (8091m)-which is world’s tenth highest mountain. Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m)- which is world’s seventh highest mountain. Besides that you will see breathtaking view of Nilgiri (7061m), Fishtail (6997m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Dhampus Peak (6012m) etc. During the March, April & May this trek rewards us colorful flowers of Rhododendron forest and different flora and fauna. Apart from this, it offers you opportunity to explore local people, lifestyle, culture, tradition of Himalayan peoples.

This trek starts after 3hrs Jeep driving with off road to Banthanti from Pokhara which is 200km west from Kathmandu. You can take 30 minutes flight to Pokhara or drive 8-9 hrs by tourist bus through the bank of beautiful Trishuli and Marshyandi River. Keep in mind that this trek can be done only if you have good experience of hiking and altitude because we will be hike form 900m to 2800m within a day.

Ghorepani Poonhill Short Trek - 2 Days Detailed Itinerary

Drive from Pokhara to Banthanti and trek to Ghorepani

The journey begins after breakfast with a scenic jeep frive from Pokhara to Banthanti (1,700 m), which take approximately 3 hours. Along the way, trekkers will experience beautiful views of forested hills, rural landscapes, and terraced fields. Some part of the road is bumping and off-road. After reaching the Banthanti, we start our trek to Ghorepani ( 2,850 m). The path ascends gradually through lush rhododendron and oak forests, passing traditional mountain villages, and after 4 to 5 hrs of walking you will reach the charming village Ghorepani. Here you will saty overnight and prepare for the hike to Poonhill the next day.

Hiking to Poonhill and trek to Banthanti then drive back to Pokhara

Early in the morning, hike to Poon Hill (approximately 30 minutes) to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee at the viewpoint and capture some memorable photographs before returning to the hotel. After breakfast, begin the trek to Banthanti, which takes around 3 hours, passing through scenic forests and local villages. From Banthanti, embark on a drive back to Pokhara (900 m), taking approximately 3 hours and enjoying the picturesque countryside along the way.

HEALTH & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

This trek can be doing even not having any hiking experiences. However, it is easy and soft grade trekking so. There are no any special physical or training requirements, but high altitude experience & walking is a benefit.
