Jamacho Hike

8:30 AM - Pickup from your hotel

Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Kathmandu. After a short briefing, drive towards Balaju Bypass and reach Fulbari Gate, the official entrance to Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.

9:00 AM - Permit Formalities

Upon arrival at Fulbari Gate, your guide will assist with the permit process and entry registration. Park officials may inspect your bags, and carrying meat, eggs, or other strong-smelling food items is prohibited, as they may attract wild animals. Once the formalities are completed, the hike will begin. 

9:30 AM - Begin Hiking

Begin your hike through the peaceful forest trail of Nagarjun National Park. The first 10 minutes can be quite challenging as the trail climbs steeply uphill, but don't worry—the path gradually becomes easier and more comfortable as you continue your journey toward Jamacho Monastery. 

10:30 AM - Mildway Checkpoint

After some time on the trail, you will reach another checkpoint where park officials will check your permit and complete a brief registration process. This checkpoint is maintained for visitor safety and helps authorities monitor hikers within the national park. Once the formalities are completed, you can continue your hike toward Jamacho Monastery. Along the way, you will see the monkeys. 

11: 00 AM - Scenic Rest Stop

After hiking for a while, you will reach another resting point where you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding hills and Kathmandu Valley. It is a great place to take photographs, relax for a few minutes, and have some snacks or refreshments before continuing the hike toward Jamacho Monastery.

12:00 AM - Reach Jamacho Gumba
