Brada is for the ones who love wildlife, adventure and less crowed areas.Bardia National Park is largest National Park in Nepal’s lowland Terai, Covering the total area of 968 sq.km. Originally established in 1976 as the ‘Royal Wildlife Reserve’ and later in 1982 it was renamed as ‘Bardia National Park’ and in 1984, it was extended to its current size and 1500 households from Babai Valley were resettled outside the park, allowing wildlife to grow. The reserve was declared as Nation Park in 1988, and in 1988 strengthened further with 327 sq.km buffer zone.
The park represents diverse ecosystems ranging from Sal-covered Churia Hills to the lush Phantas ( Phantas) of Bhabhar. The Park supports over 25 reptiles, 100 species of forest trees, 400 + birds, 53 species of mammals, 121 fish, and more than 300 butterfly species. Bardia is the home to most famous inhabitants as Royal Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephant, sloth bear, leopards, and it also boost small populations of the rare gharial and Marsh mugger crocodiles and the endangered Gangetic dolphin. This region also shows the deep cultural roots and historically inhabited by Tharu community people, who were migrated decades ago. Bardia has a sub-tropical monsoon climate, with three separate seasons – the hot, dry season from mid-February to mid-June, the wet, monsoon season from mid –June to late September and the cool, dry season from late September to mid-February. The average high temperature is 30.5 degrees Celsius and the average low is 17.7 degrees Celsius.
