Best Time for Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour

The Everest View Hotel Helicopter Tour can be operated throughout the year but the experience varies for seasons. During the clear sky and stable weather seasons of spring and autumn offers the best spectacular views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Spring Season (March-May)

Spring season is one of the best popular times for the Everest helicopter tour. During this season the weather is stable, clear sky, and offers the beautiful scenery when flying by helicopter over the mountains. The rhododendron trees that grow in the dry forests surrounding Everest are also flowering at this time of year, creating not only a beautiful scene but also providing pleasant weather for travelers. This season is perfect to travel and experience the beauty of nature.

Autumn Season (September-November)

Autumn is generally considered as the best time for helicopter tours in Everest region. After the monsoon season, the atmosphere is clean and free of dust resulting in a clear line of sight to the mountains. Typically, the sky is very clear during this time allowing for uninterrupted panoramic views of the beautiful Himalayas including Mount Everest. The weather is usually stable, which helps ensure a safe and comfortable helicopter experience.

Winter Season (December-February)

The Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour in winter season is perfect for those who prefer quieter skies and dramatic snowy landscapes. The mountains are covered with fresh snow, creating stunning scenery across the Everest region. The skies tend to be much clearer during winter providing good visibility when flying over the tops of many of the Himalayan Peaks. However, air temperatures are quite colder at higher elevations (above 3000 m or 10,000 ft) and you may find that some flights are unbale to take place due to strong winds or adverse weather conditions in these cases the flights are rescheduled.

Monsoon Season (June-August)

During the rainy monsoon season, the ratio of clouds and precipitation is very high throughout the Everest area; therefore, these conditions can severely limit visibility of the mountain. Helicopter travel during busy periods like the monsoon season can be unpredictable and prone to being delayed or canceled due to existing weather conditions, which will not allow the traveler any use of the helicopter during this time. However, given the occurrence of a dry morning in-between rain systems, the traveler still has an opportunity to see lush green terrain and potentially clear views of the Himalayas.

Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour Cost

The cost of an Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour totally depends on several factors such as group size, type of helicopter service, stops made during tour, and any additional services that may be included in the cost paid for tour. Typically, a traveler will select between a group shared flight to Everest Base Camp or an individual private helicopter charter both will provide amazing views of the Everest Region from up above including Mount Everest, Everest Base Camp and the famous viewpoint Kala Patthar.

Why Choose Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour?

In addition, new technology in current helicopters make them equipped with safety systems and emergency oxygen supplies to make this a safe and pleasurable experience flying through the Himalayas. Prior to taking off, several aspects such as weather conditions and passenger safety are closely monitored.
