Rolwaling Trek- 22 Days Detailed Itinerary

1Day

Arrival in Kathmandu & transfer to your hotel.

Flying into Kathmandu on a crystal clear day is itself a truly breathtaking experience. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, & begin a whole sequence of memorable experiences that stay with you for a real long time. Upon arrival, a representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Our team will assist you with check-in process and provide an orientation about your daily activities. This will be your first overnight stay in the city of temples.

2Day

Full -day Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley and making permit

Kathmandu, is the historical heart of Nepal, has been a popular destination for tourists ever since the country opened its borders to outside world. The city presents a wonderful combination of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, its two prime neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural and religious significances.

We will arrange a professional tour guide for you and a private tourist vehicle with a driver to explore between monuments. The tour guide will take you to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath Stupa, the historical and cultural sites you’ll visit today. Offering panoramic views of the valley.

After completion of your day tour, you will be having meeting with your trek guide at our office/hotel. He will brief you about the Trek and all the essentials. The Thamel has many trekking gear shops, where you can buy missing gear in the late evening and get ready for the drive to Dolakha. 

3Day

Drive from Kathmandu to Dolakha

We begin our journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dolakha (Charikot) through Araniko Highway. The journey offers the stunning views of the Himalayan ranges from Dhulikhel, followed by winding hill roads and rivers we will pass through charming villages like Khadichaur and Mude. As you approach Dolakha, the landscapes becomes cooler with pine forests and rolling hills, making the drive peaceful. Arrive in Dolakha in the evening and relax with an overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s.

4Day

Drive from Dolakha to Shigati via Piguti

From Dolakha, we continue our journey to Shigati via Piguti the trails takes you through a scenic route of gravel roads weaving between diverse villages inhabited by mixed communities. Along the way, you will cross the several streams and walk through lush forests rich with natural vegetation, including vibrant rhododendrons, orchids and other native flora. The serene environment and peaceful surroundings make this journey both refreshing and immersive. Arrive in Shigati in the evening, where you will enjoy an overnight stay, resting before continuing your adventure the next day.

5Day

Trek from Shigati to Jagat

From here we officially begin our trek, the trail follows mostly gentle, flat land along the riverside, making perfect for scenic and comfortable walk. You pass through lush rice terraces and small vilages inhabited by a diverse mix of local communities, offering glimpse of daily rural life. Along the way, you will cross the forest dotted with orchids, scattered rhododendron trees, and wild vegetation. Several times, you cross streams via suspension bridges, leading you to Jagat—a small town known for its cultural diversity. Arrive in Jagat by evening and spend the night at a local lodge, resting for the days ahead.

6Day

Trek from Jagat to Simigaon

The first part of your trails follows normally flat path, then it passes through the jungle. At several places you cross through suspension bridges. There are numerous villages on your way. You can find small teashops and local shops at some of the places. You steeply climb up to Simigaon, a village inhabited by Buddhist and few Hindus. You will spend here whole night.

7Day

Trek from Simigaon to Daldung La

On the route you come across the Sherpa villages. The uphill trek covers regions with varieties of plants and Rhododendron trees. After the uphill trek you will now come across paths through which you will enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. It’s a wonderful area to trek in. You will spend here whole night.

8Day

Trek from Daldung La to Beding

The trek now ascends uphill through different varieties of plants and Rhododendron trees. You trek over the suspension bridges over the deep gorges in few places making the trek even more enchanting. You finally reach Beding which is a big Sherpa village. You will stay here overnight.

9Day

Rest day at Beding for acclimatization.

You can hike in and around for acclimatization and have panoramic views of mountains like Mt. Gauri Shanker, Tibetan mountains of the Tibetan boarder. 

10Day

Trek from Beding to Na

This day you can explore the upper slopes of the valley for Snow Partridge or a visit to the nearby glacier lake. The trek path slightly ascends along the river bank. The place is an open path with fresh air and the charming sound of the river. You can have the panoramic view of the mountains as the trek moves forward. You will also come across the Sherpa village having their own specialties.

11Day

Rest Day at Na for preparation for Ramdung Go (5930m.).

Today is a rest day in Na to prepare for the climb to Ramdung Go (5930m). From the village, you can enjoy impressive views of Gauri Shanker, Menlung, Yalung, and the Tibetan peaks. You’ll also spend time around the Yalung Glacier, taking in the surrounding high-mountain scenery.

12Day

Trek from Na to Tsho Rolpa Lake

You will be trekking through the flat and gradually up path. You will be able to witness the beautiful Natural Lake filled with the chilling water of the glaciers. The views of Menlung and Tibetan Side Mountains add glory to your trek.

13Day

Trek Tsho Rolpa to Trakarding Glacier

Early morning you will walk through the glaciers throughout the day and will be able to experience the new enchanting beauties that would add extra dimensions into your trial.

14Day

Trek from Trakarding Glacier to Tashi Lapcha Pedi

The trek from Trakarding Glacier to Tashi Lapcha Pedi continues with a steady ascent, involving sections of rock climbing followed by a gradual walk across the glacier. The route offers rugged terrain and striking glacial scenery as you approach the base of the pass.

15Day

Climb from Tashi Lapcha Pedi to Tashi Lapcha Pass to Tashi Cape.

Today you climb from Tashi Lapcha Pedi up toward the Tashi Lapcha Pass, following a steep, snow-covered route. After reaching the pass, you descend through icy terrain and continue on to Tashi Cape, surrounded by dramatic high-mountain scenery throughout the journey.

16Day

Trek from Tashi Cape to Thyomgbo

Today’s trek leads you from Tashi Cape toward Thyomgbo, crossing a glacier along the way. The trail gradually descends, offering dramatic views of the ice and surrounding peaks as you make your way down to the valley floor and continue toward Thyomgbo.

17Day

Trek Thyomgbo to Thame

Early morning you will trek down to Thame. This trail gradually descends and you trek an easier trail and will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the environment. 

18Day

Trek from Thame to Namche Bazaar

The trail descends gently for early one hour to Sanasa (3550m.). Now you can catch a glimpse of the majestic peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. Passing by several villages and numerous teashops, the trail descends steeply to a bridge over the river Dudh Koshi at Phunki Tenga (3250mThe way from Sanasa to Namche is uneven with views of forests, scenery and mountains.

19Day

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

On the last lap of our trekking we follow the Dudh Kosi River down to Lukla with steeply descending from Namche Bazzar. The trail goes through dense forests and crossing many bridges over streams. There are also many small settlement areas on the way. After we get to Phakding Village, we hike to Lukla, where we end our beautiful and memorable trek.

20Day

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Today, we take a short flight back to Kathmandu. The views during the flight are perfect. After  touchdown to the airport in Kathmandu, our team will trasfer you to the hotel and  take care everything while check into your hotel.

The remaining time of your day is yours for leisure, treat yourself to a relaxing Spa treatment and Massage, shopping for souviners and more.

21Day

This day is reserved for you to rest & do your personal work.

In the evening you will be taken to a Nepalese Kitchen for a delicious Nepalese cuisine (supper). As you enjoy your meal, you will be entertained to an exciting cultural dance performed by the local belles. This is a complimentary outing on behalf of Higher Limits Trek & Expedition for the good welfare of our guests. Your last night in Kathmandu

22Day

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Home

Our escort team will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight home. For those who wish to extend their stay in Nepal, a variety of optional activities can be arranged, including a jungle safari with a game drive in one of the national parks, adventurous white-water rafting, Tibet overland tours, or mountain biking experiences. Simply let us know your interests and budget, and we will be happy to tailor an extension program to suit your needs.

The price of the trip is depence on services you take from us so that we have plenty of options on Add Ons section such Helicopter, Porters, Private Transport, Extra Guides and so on.

We suggest you to hire a porter to carry your bag pack while on the trek, trekking with a light day pack is much easier and you enjoy your trekking holidays to the fullest. A trekking porter carries about 20-25Kg (about 10-12Kg from each of you) and we suggest you to hire a one porter for two trekkers.

Essential Information

Meals / Food:

Every day’s Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner is included in the package during the trek. This will be a dish of Nepali, Indian or Continental source cooked by the lodging you stay at.

Accommodations/Hotels:

The whole trekking is tea house trekking which means we will stay at simple Tea House Lodge accommodation during the trek which will be wood and stone houses with outside toilet and bathroom mostly.

Electricity:

Almost everywhere available electricity on this trekking routes but still please be prepare with 2pin plug, power bank, spare batteries and head lamp etc.

Health and Experience Required:

This trekking involves five to seven hours walking per day. However, it is some part of this trek at very high altitude, which will take a physical toll. There are no special physical or training requirements, but high altitude experience & walking is a benefit.
