Langtang Valley Trek commences with an overland journey to Syabru Bensi through Dunche, the main trekking starting point known in this area. From here on, we spend three days hiking up through this beautiful alpine valley to Kyangjin Gompa which is the final destination to accommodate our trip. On the day you walk from Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa, you can still make the exploration trip around the valley after lunch, even we can go to see the old local Yak Cheese Factory. Next day early morning after breakfast we hike to Kyanjin Ri 4773 m about 3-4hrs.

After exploration of the high mountains and glacial systems from Kyanjin Ri, we walk back to Kyanjin Gompa for a lunch, rest of the day is relax, rest and walk around. Next day early morning after breakfast we continue two more days walk down back to Syabru Besi, where we end our Langtang Valley Trek, before we precede Jeep journey onwards to Kathmandu.

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport & transfer to Hotel

Flying into Kathmandu on a crystal clear day is itself a truly breathtaking experience. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, & begin a whole sequence of memorable experiences that stay with you for a real long time. Upon arrival, a representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Our team will assist you with check-in process and provide an orientation about your daily activities. This will be your first overnight stay in the city of temples.

Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley and making permit

Kathmandu, is the historical heart of Nepal, has been a popular destination for tourists ever since the country opened its borders to outside world. The city presents a wonderful combination of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, its two prime neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural and religious significances.

We will arrange a professional tour guide for you and a private tourist vehicle with a driver to explore between monuments. The tour guide will take you to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath Stupa, the historical and cultural sites you’ll visit today. Offering panoramic views of the valley.

After completion of your day tour, you will be having meeting with your trek guide at our office/hotel. He will brief you about the Trek and all the essentials. The Thamel has many trekking gear shops, where you can buy missing gear in the late evening and get ready for the jeep driving to Syabru Bensi.

Drive Kathmandu to Syabru Bensi

After breakfast, we drive from kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of your Langtang Valley journey. We will pass through the terraced hillsides, rushing rivers, traditional villages and distant mountain views. As we leave the city behind, the scenery gradually becomes more rural and serene. Syabrubesi, a small riverside town, marks the gateway to the Langtang region and offers a perfect place to relax and prepare for the trek ahead.

Trek from Syabru Bensi to Lama Hotel

We begin our trek from Syabru Bensi, following the trail alongside the Langtang Khola. We cross through the dense bamboo groves, lush forests and peaceful riverside trails, and offers a natural walking experience. You can see the beautiful mountains along the way. After approximately walking for six hours, you reach the destination Lama Hotel, a quiet settlement surrounded by forested hills and an ideal place to rest and enjoy the stunning mountain atmosphere.

Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

Continuing the trek form Lama Hotel, the route gradually ascends through beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine alongside the Lnagtang River. The trail offers a peaceful walk with chances of spotting wildlife such as red pandas and langurs. We will pass through small villages of Sherpa and Tamang communities, where you can see colorful prayer flags and traditional mani walls reflect the Buddhist culture. By the end of the day, you will arrive at Langtang Village, where you will stay overnight.

Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

We continue our trek from Langtang Village, today is a short and gentle walk and also considered one of the most scenic days of the journey. The route walk us through the yak pastures and traditional Buddhist monuments, including prayer wheels and chortens. As we gain elevation, the views of Langtang Lirung and the surroundings peaks become more impressive. 

By the time you reach Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful monastery village surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers. In the afternoon, you will have time to explore the valley, visit the famous Kyanjin Cheese Factory, or take a short hike to nearby viewpoints for stunning panoramic views of the Langtang range.

After early Breakfast hiking to Kyanjin Ri

After an early breakfast, we begin our hike from Kyanjin Gompa to Kyanjin Ri. The trail climbs steadily over rocky paths and alpine terrain, slowing gaining elevation. As we climb highers, the surrounding landscape opens up, offering breathtaking views of the Langtang Valley, glaciers and surronding Himalayan peaks.

Upon reaching the summit of Kyanjin Ri, you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Dorje Lakpa, and the surrounding snow-covered mountains. After spending time enjoying the views and taking photographs, we descend back to Kyanjin Gompa, where the rest of the day can be spent relaxing or exploring the village at a leisurely pace.

Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

After having breakfast, we begin our return trek form Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel, descending through the Langtang Valley. The path leads us back through the Langtang Village and through lush forests and peaceful bamboo groves, retracing the familiar paths crossed earlier in the journey. Walking downhill a peaceful and realxed journey. By the afternoon, we arrive at Lama Hotel, a quiet riverside settlement with cozy teahouses, where we will rest for the night. 

9Day

Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Bensi

Today marks the final day of our trek as we descend from Lama Hotel back to Syabrubesi. The trail descends downhill through forested paths, alongside flowing rivers, and past small villages . Enjoy a relaxed and scenic walk as you follow the Langtang River toward the valley floor. By the time we reach the welcoming town of Syabrubesi, your memorable Langtang journey comes to a satisfying end.

Drive from Syabru Bensi to Kathmandu

It's time to say goodbye to the beautiful mountains and head back to kathmandu. The drive takes you along mountain roads, passing through terraced hillsides, flowing rivers, traditional villages, and familiar landscapes that gently bring you back to the bustle of the valley.

 Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and rest. In the evening, the company will host a special farewell dinner accompanied by a cultural program. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the successful completion of your journey, enjoy traditional music and dance, and share stories and laughter with your trekking team one last time. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Transfer to airport for your flight to home.

As we have successfully completed the trip, it is time to return home or embark on your next journey. Even you can join our next adventures trips in the Himalayas if you wish too. If not, our airport team will take care of your airport escort and say you our last goodbye till the next adventure holidays.

The price of the trip is depence on what serives you take from us so that we have plenty of options on Add Ons section such Helicopter, Porters, Extra Guides and more.

We suggest you to hire a porter to carry your bag pack while on the trek, trekking with a light day pack is much easier and you enjoy your trekking holidays to the fullest. A trekking porter carries about 20-25Kg (about 10-12Kg from each of you) and we suggest you to hire a one porter for two trekkers.

Do you need accommodation for extra nights in Kathmandu ? You can add hotel stays at a (2-3) - star hotel with breakfast included. The cost is $ 50 per night for a single room and $ 55 per night for a double room.

Essential Information

Meals/Food:

Every day’s Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner is included in the package during the trek. This will be a dish of Nepali, Indian or Continental source cooked by the lodging you stay at.

Accommodations/Hotels:

The whole trekking is tea house trekking which means we will stay at simple Tea House Lodge accommodation during the trek, which will be wood and stone houses with outside toilet and bathroom mostly.

Electricity:

Almost everywhere available electricity on this trekking routes but still please be prepare with 2pin plug, power bank, spare batteries and head lamp etc.

Acclimization:

Keep in mind that you will be reaching above 4000m during the journey to Kyanjin Ri. Walking fast at such elevation could lead to medical complications (Acute Mountain Sickness) which could be serious. There is less oxygen compared to sea level in high-altitudes places. The higher, altitude will be the less oxygen in air. Your body needs a days to acclimatize to this environment, which is why we will take a day rest during the trip at Kyanjin Ri. Although we provide information regarding AMS insurance, the only option for treatment is descending (evacuation). We advise that clients with known heart, lung or blood diseases, or clients over the age of 60 to discuss with their doctor before traveling with us.

Health and Experience Required:

This trekking involves five to seven hours walking per day. There are no special physical or training requirements, but high altitude experience & walking is a benefit.

Langtang Valley Trek is located in the northeast of Nepal, just north of Kathmandu, in the beautiful Langtang National Park. Despite being so close to the capital, Langtang is worlds apart in its raw natural beauty and silent mountain appeal.

The highest point is Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m), which offers panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks.

Yes, the Langtang Valley Trek is suitable for fit beginners. 

The trek is easy to moderate, with some stone staircase and gradual ascents.

Accommodation is in teahouses (lodges) with basic but comfortable rooms. Rooms are usually twin-sharing with shared bathrooms at higher altitudes.

Teahouses offer a basic variety of meals such as:

  • Dal Bhat (rice, lentils, vegetables)
  • Noodles, pasta, soup
  • Tibetan bread, eggs, potatoes
  • Tea, coffee, and hot drinks

The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November).
