Jaljala Trek, situated in the Thabang Village Development Committee (VDC) of the Rolpa district, is one of the recently opened trekking areas in Nepal. Visiting Jaljala in the springtime transports you to a supernatural land, where hills are covered with a colorful carpet of wild blossoms, green meadows, and dense Rhododendron forests.

1Day

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport & transfer to Hotel

Flying into Kathmandu on a crystal clear day is itself a truly breathtaking experience. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, & begin a whole sequence of memorable experiences that stay with you for a real long time. Upon arrival, a representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Our team will assist you with check-in process and provide an orientation about your daily activities. This will be your first overnight stay in the city of temples.

2Day

A day Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu, is the historical heart of Nepal, has been a popular destination for tourists ever since the country opened its borders to outside world. The city presents a wonderful combination of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, its two prime neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural and religious significances.

A half-day guided sightseeing tour includes visits to some of the valley’s most iconic landmarks: the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s largest and holiest Hindu shrine; the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, the largest Buddhist stupa in the country; the historic Palace of 55 Windows in Bhaktapur; and the hilltop Swayambhunath Stupa, offering panoramic views of the valley.

Drive from Kathmandu to Bhalubang

We begin our scenic drive from Kathmandu to Bhalubang, along the Prithvi Highway. The drive takes us through beautiful river valleys, rolling hills, and lively highway towns such as Mugling, Narayangadh, and Butwal. After a full day of driving 7-8 hrs, we arrive at Bhalubang, a small but important highway town in the Dang Valley, where we check into our accommodation and rest.

Drive from Bhalubang to Sulichur

We drive from Bhalubang to Sulichur, along thw winding paths beside the Mali and Lungri streams, enjoying the peaceful rural landscapes and small villages along the way. Sulichur is a quiet small bazaar where you stop for a short visit and stay overnight at a local lodge, resting for the next day’s journey.

Trek from Sulichur to Jelbang

The trek from Sulichur to Jelbang involves gentle ascents and descents through forests, streams, and terraced fields. Along the way, you can observe the Magar community busy with their daily chores, and in spring, locals searching for gold in the Phagam stream. The trail offers a glimpse of rural life and natural beauty before reaching Jelbang.

6Day

Trek from Jelbang to Bagtare

From Jelbang, the trail gradually ascends through forests and farmland as you make your way to Bagtare. The region is known for its gold and iron mines, adding a touch of local history to the journey. Enjoy the natural scenery along the trail before reaching Bagtare, where you stay overnight.

7Day

Trek from Bagtare to Jaljala

From Bagtare, the trail climbs steadily through a mix of forests, terraced fields, and small villages, giving trekkers a glimpse of rural life in the region. Along the way, you can enjoy views of the surrounding hills and valleys, with occasional streams and local farmland adding to the scenery. The ascending trail gradually leads you to Jaljala, a peaceful settlement where you can rest, take in the serene environment, and prepare for the next stage of your journey.

8Day

This day you can explore the various sights and sounds of Jaljala.

In the spring time you will be mesmerized by the full blossoming of wild flowers and Rhododendron, green meadows and the superb views of various mountains such as Mt.Sisne, Mt.Putha, Mt.Dhaulagiri, and Mt.Annapurna. Pilgrims offer prayers at the temples Kailu Baraha, Sahadev Baraha and Bajyu Baraha. Visit to the Bhama cave also makes for an interesting trip. This cave is twenty five to thirty meters long. Stay overnight in camp.

9Day

Trek from Jaljala to Thabang

From Jaljala, the trail gently descends through lush forests, terraced fields, and small settlements, offering glimpses of local life along the way. The path gradually brings you to Thabang, a village of historical significance as the origin of the Maoist movement in Nepal. Here, you can explore the village, interact with locals, and experience the traditional culture of the region. In the evening, you stay overnight in a local lodge or guesthouse, enjoying the serene mountain surroundings and preparing for the next day’s trek.

10Day

Explore around Thabang

This day you can enjoy the cultural program that exhibit the various forms of Magar dances such as Dhikure, Bhumya, etc. Both young and old join together to participate in the yearly festival known as “Bhumya festival” to appease the nature god and pray for the blessings to save their fields and homes from the might of the natural calamities.

Trek from Uwa to Phuliban and drive to Sulichur

From Uwa, the trail leads you to Phuliban, passing through forests, streams, and terraced fields along the way. After reaching Phuliban, you continue by vehicle on a one-and-a-half-hour drive to Sulichur. On the drive, you can enjoy the scenic Sunchhahari cascade and, during the spring season, observe locals searching for gold in the Lungri stream. In the evening, you stay overnight at a lodge in Sulichur, resting and preparing for the next stage of your journey.

13Day

Drive from Sulichur to Bhalubang

From Sulichur, you travel along scenic trails and rural landscapes to reach Bhalubang, a journey of approximately five hours. Along the way, you can enjoy views of rivers, forests, and local villages. In the evening, you stay overnight at a lodge in Bhalubang,

14Day

Drive from Bhalubang to Kathmandu

In the evening, we will visit a well known Nepali kitchen for dinner; & as you savor your meal, you will be entertained to an exciting cultural dance performed by the local belles. This is a complimentary outing on behalf of Higher Limits Trek & Expeditions for the good welfare of our guests. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu

15Day

Depart Kathmandu for home or any other destination

Upon returning to Kathmandu, the rest of the day is free for souvenir shopping, sightseeing, or any personal activities at your convenience until your departure. At the scheduled time, our staff will assist with your transfer to the airport for your onward flight home or to your next destination.

The price of the trip is depence on services you take from us so that we have plenty of options on Add Ons section such Helicopter, Porters, Private Transport, Extra Guides and so on.

We suggest you to hire a porter to carry your bag pack while on the trek, trekking with a light day pack is much easier and you enjoy your trekking holidays to the fullest. A trekking porter carries about 20-25Kg (about 10-12Kg from each of you) and we suggest you to hire a one porter for two trekkers.

Essential Information

Meals / Food:

Every day’s Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner is included in the package during the trek. This will be a dish of Nepali, Indian or Continental source cooked by the lodging you stay at.

Accomodations/Hotels:

The whole trekking is tea house trekking which means we will stay at simple Tea House Lodge accommodation during the trek which will be wood and stone houses with outside toilet and bathroom mostly.

Electricity:

Almost everywhere available electricity on this trekking routes but still please be prepare with 2pin plug, power bank, spare batteries and head lamp etc.

Health and Experience Required:

This trekking involves five to seven hours walking per day. However, it is some part of this trek at very high altitude, which will take a physical toll. There are no special physical or training requirements, but high altitude experience & walking is a benefit.
