The Siklis trek is one of those unique picturesque treks that unfold the natural beauty of Nepal. The charming villages, intriguing patterns of terraced fields, rhododendron forest, and high alpine meadows nestled below the towering mountains of Annapurna II and IV are some of the primary features you come across as you hike the trails on this trek. The trekking route takes you to a region which is inhabited by the friendly Gurung community who are staunch in upholding their old customs and traditions. It would be worthy to stop for a while & interact with these interesting folks on your way. A final high point reveals the magnificent views of the fish – tail peak of Machhapuchare.

The Siklis trek also offers bird lovers a real treat to a host of bird species which are found in abundance in the forests of the Siklis region. The cackle of birds chattering is heard throughout this trip….you’d just love it…

The Siklish Trek- 11 Days Detailed Itinerary

1Day

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport & transfer to Hotel

Flying into Kathmandu on a crystal clear day is itself a truly breathtaking experience. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, & begin a whole sequence of memorable experiences that stay with you for a real long time. Upon arrival, a representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Our team will assist you with check-in process and provide an orientation about your daily activities. This will be your first overnight stay in the city of temples.

2Day

Full -day Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley and making permit

It is a day for Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley and trek preparation with making permit etc. We will arrange a professional tour guide for you and a private tourist vehicle with a driver to explore between monuments. The tour guide will take you to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath Stupa, the historical and cultural sites you’ll visit today.

After completion of your day tour, you will be having meeting with your trek guide at our office/hotel. He will brief you about the Trek and all the essentials. The Thamel has many trekking gear shops, where you can buy missing gear in the late evening and get ready for the driving to Pokhara.

3Day

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

You depart early morning at 7 o’clock for the six hours drive by a tourist deluxe bus to Pokhara (915m), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. As you climb out of the Kathmandu valley, only to quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, you follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. You follow the Marsyangdi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara. Blessed with pleasant weather, Pokhara is a tourist’s paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with the beautiful mountains. You can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to fall in love with the natural beauty found in this city of lakes. You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes. Stay overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.

4Day

Drive from Pokhara to Bijayapur Khola (Bijayapur Army Camp) – Kalikasthan

A broad trail starts through rice fields near the Army Camp, and then ascends through Rakhigaon to a Chautara, a resting place under a large pipal tree. En route, you can enjoy the views in blissful panorama. Then the trail gently climbs along a ridge top through the Brahmin and Chhetri villages towards Kalikasthan (1370m.). At the end, you should climb a short distance to the campsite which is situated above the village with panoramic views of the mountains, Begnas Tal and Pokhara city. Stay overnight at hotel or lodges.

5Day

Trek from Kalikasthan to LamaKhet

You begin following gently a path passing through local villages of mixed ethnic groups and rice growing terraces up to Mardi Khola. Now the hike is easy as you walk along the riverbank. En route, you cross Bhaise, Nawaldanda, to reach Lama Khet. It is a small village where you bunk out overnight. This place is surrounded by lush green hills that stretch for miles which stirs the imagination for good thoughts. Stay overnight.

6Day

Trek from Lama Khet to Siklis

The trail stretches at a flat level along the river bank until you reach Khilan Gaon. After this, you follow a path which is gently uphill for some distance and then gradually gets steep for some hours. En route, you pass Parju village. The trail again climbs till Siklis village. This is one of the oldest and largest Gurung villages found hereabouts. Most of the people around here serve in the Indian and British Army. Stay overnight.

7Day

Trek from Siklis to Neuli Kharka or Forest Camp

The trek begins from Siklis, following a gentle uphill trail through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The walk is easy and relaxing, with the sound of nature all around. After some time, the trail levels out and crosses open flat sections, making the hike comfortable. Neuli Kharka, also known as Forest Camp, is a quiet resting place surrounded by dense forest. It is a pleasant and refreshing hike, with an overnight stay at Forest Camp in a peaceful natural environment.

8Day

Trek from Forest Camp to Ghale Gaon

You trek through forests covered with rhododendron. While walking you cross the highest pass of this trek. After hiking through the pass, you descend steeply to reach Ghale Gaon. It is a small village which is mainly inhabited by the Gurung and Magar communities, very friendly people. Stay overnight.

9Day

Drive from Ghale Gaon to Pokhara

The day begins with a pleasant and gentle descent from Ghale Gaon, following scenic trails through terraced fields, forests, and small local settlements. The walk is relaxed and enjoyable, offering glimpses of rural life and surrounding hills. After reaching Hyamgja (1,070 m), you board a vehicle and drive to Pokhara. Upon arrival, you check in to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Pokhara, with time to relax after the trek.

10Day

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Mugling and Kurintar where Nepal’s first Cable car is operated to reach the famous Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people happily engaged in their daily life chores. From Naubishe, you climb up to Thankot, which is the gateway to the capital city of Kathmandu. Overnight at your hotel.

11Day

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Home

As we have successfully completed the trip, it is time to return home or embark on your next journey. Even you can join our next adventures trips in the Himalayas if you wish too. If not, our airport team will take care of your airport escort and say you our last goodbye till the next adventure holidays.

Add-Ons & Options

The price of the trip is depence on services you take from us so that we have plenty of options on Add Ons section such Helicopter, Porters, Private Transport, Extra Guides, Accomodations and so on.

We suggest you to hire a porter to carry your bag pack while on the trek, trekking with a light day pack is much easier and you enjoy your trekking holidays to the fullest. A trekking porter carries about 20-25Kg (about 10-12Kg from each of you) and we suggest you to hire a one porter for two trekkers.

If you don’t want to spend an entire day on the road, skip the 8-9hrs bus ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara then choose a short scenic flight instead of long driving just with $120. You can utilize your saving valuable time to explore the beautiful city of Pokhara instead of sitting on a long drive. The airfare includes free domestic airport pickup and drop off. You can also add the return flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu with same price.

Don't want to take a long bus ride? No worries, you can travel comfortably from Kathmandu to Pokhara in a private car for an additional cost. Enjoy a relaxed journey at your own pace, with required stops to admire the scenery along the way. This option is extra benefit for a small groups, you can share the car fare amongst the four travelers. You can also add the return journey from Pokhara to Kathmandu at the same price.

Do you need accommodation for extra nights in Kathmandu and in Pokhara? You can add hotel stays at a (2-3) - star hotel with breakfast included. The cost is $ 50 per night for a single room and $ 55 per night for a double room.

Essential Information

Meals / Food:

Every day’s Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner is included in the package during the trek. This will be a dish of Nepali, Indian or Continental source cooked by the lodging you stay at.

Accommodations/Hotels:

The whole trekking is tea house trekking which means we will stay at simple Tea House Lodge accommodation during the trek which will be wood and stone houses with outside toilet and bathroom mostly.

Electricity:

Almost everywhere available electricity on this trekking routes but still please be prepare with 2pin plug, power bank, spare batteries and head lamp etc.

Heath and Experience Required:

This trekking involves five to seven hours walking per day. However, it is some part of this trek at very high altitude, which will take a physical toll. There are no special physical or training requirements, but high altitude experience & walking is a benefit.
