Min Bahadur Sherchan died at Everest Base CampNepal’s octogenarian great Mountaineer Mr.Min Bahadur Sherchan died at Everest Base Camp on Saturday afternoon on 6 May 2017. He has made the record of the oldest climber to ascend Everest at the age of 76 in 2008, but the record was broken by Japanese climber Yuichiro Miura. Mr. Sherchan was born in Myagdi in 1931.

His remains were brought to Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu by helicopter from Base Camp on 7th may 2017 at 10:40 am for postmortem. After postmortem his remains will be taken to Thakali Samajha at Balaju for about 3 hours and then will burn at Pashupati Aryaghat this evening.
