Posted By: admin | Posted Date: September 3, 2015

Almost three months into the devastating earthquake to this day, life in Nepal is slowly getting back to normal.
In the wake of earthquake, Nepal carried out speedy rescue with the help of national and international volunteers. This was followed by relief distribution to the earthquake victims. Currently, Nepal is in the third phase of restructuring and rebuilding, as old damaged buildings are being discarded and new infrastructures set to replace them.

Nepal Safe to Visit after Earthquake?

Nepalese Tourism bore the direct brunt of the earthquake since thousands of tourists left Nepal immediately within few weeks of the incident and many still cancelled their trips.

Tourism contributes a large share of national economy. In fact tourism is a lifeline for hundreds and thousands of tourist guides, hoteliers, trekking and tour operators, mountain climbing leaders etc. Revival of tourism and its promotion is fundamental for Nepalese economy and to directly support rural livelihoods.

The post-earthquake scenario has already seen signs of improvement. Nepal government has declared all the world heritage sites and trekking areas open for tourists. In joint cooperation of private sector, damaged heritage sites are being renovated and restored.

The recent statistics show that only 8 out of 75 districts suffered earthquake damages. The earthquake affected only 1 out of 4 world heritage sites, 1 out of 10 national parks and 2 out of 35 trekking routes. All highways, hospitals, airports are in full operation, and 95% of all hotels in Nepal have been declared safe to operate.

There are simply no risks at all for tourists to Travel Nepal. Nepal is safe to Visit. Almost all tourism activities including trekking, climbing, rafting, paragliding, city sightseeing tours and so forth are operating smoothly.

The Nepalese tourism industry is once again ready to welcome tourists from around the globe.

Traveling in Nepal post-earthquake will offer following benefits to the visitors:

•The service providers in Nepal will continue to focus on delivering quality products with add-on values
•Travelers will be able to accrue benefit from special packages as many touristic destinations are offering deals with good discounted price
• Visitors will be able to experience and study firsthand the damages of earthquake
• Visitors will directly or indirectly help in rehabilitation Nepal’s economy by generating employment and pulling much-needed revenue
• Opportunity for travelers wishing to involve in rebuilding and reconstruction of Nepal

At this point in time Nepal needs effectively goal international promotion and marketing to restore Nepal’s image as a safe and premier destination. To attract tourists, Nepalese government and tourism related organizations such as Nepal Tourism Board, Trekking Agents Association of Nepal, Hotel Association of Nepal, Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents among others should work in close coordination and cooperation in sending out a positive message via national and international media and also through high-level diplomatic officials.

Being Good Japanese speaker and a responsible tourism entrepreneur, I would like to take this opportunity to convey the message that Nepal is safe to travel and is ready to welcome all international tourists including Japanese travelers.

I would kindly request all Nepali and our international friends here and abroad to help disseminate this positive message that Nepal is a safe tourism destination.
Thank you so much for the great contribution.
